Marie winning a Nobel Prize was one of the first things that brought female scientists onto the map. People began to realize that women were more than just invisible, unimportant assistants. Her Nobel Prize in chemistry enforces that idea. Her Nobel Prize in physics helped prove that women can do great things. Her petit-curies and their success proved to doctors that it was okay for them to take orders from a woman.
